It is impossible to make up classes if the child misses 10 days of class. Why make children suffer?

What if a student is vaccinated but may have been exposed to COVID? Your nurse claimed is ok to send a child to school if he has been exposed to someone who may flag as COVID positive, but is vaccinated. Can you please clarify this. Thanks.

Ted: Yes, the student will do more self-learning than they typically would. However, the teacher will make him/herself available for live Zoom to explain and answer questions.

Why is homeroom so long? Will Wildcat Wednesday go away and allow for new instruction as the year goes on?

Why did we end Wildcat Wellness? Previously students would have free time every week on top of the county mandated lessons. Now, they only get to have this time if there are no homeroom lessons.

Do the student's have to do a practice PSAT before hand?

And accommodations do not apply to the Mock SAT, just to SAT and PSAT.

Yes, students are expected to stay, however you can always sign them out.

Students who receive extended time will be excused from their subsequent classes.

Testing would be an excused absence.

What happens if you have to quarantine during testing? Is there make up time?

Make ups are also planned for but the window of times established is short for the early fall assessment.

Students are required to participate in this year's assessments. A passing score is not required for the 21-22 school year.

Since you recommend students who have any health symptoms to stay home, are those going to be excused absences?

How are 9th graders being coached to advocate for themselves? Are there seminars, etc. that will help these students? Please remember they have not been socializing for almost two years.

Thanks for the drop off hacks. Can we also get the County to ban left turns into the Giant parking lot from Rock Spring during that early morning drop off time. I’ve seen too many close calls between students and cars and the left turners really impede traffic too.

Ms. Ladson had suggested over the weekend in the College Saturday that all students and parents make an appointment to meet with their counselors, just to meet them. How do we do so, and what is the best time to do so?

When it comes time to select courses for each year, do the counselors work with the students to make sure they are on track for required classes and graduation requirements so there aren’t any surprises when they get to 12th grade?
